REASI POLICE REGISTERS FIRs AGAINST PONY HANDLERS OPERATING WITHOUT VALID ID CARDS
Acting on the directions of senior officers, the police team of Police Post Banganga conducted checking on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra Track, Katra, to ensure compliance with the prescribed guidelines for pony handlers.
During the checking, two pony handlers were found operating without valid identification cards. Accordingly, the following FIRs were registered:
- FIR No. 290/2026 under Section 223(a) BNS against Sushil Kumar S/o Shadi Ram, R/o Sarote, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu.
- FIR No. 291/2026 under Section 223(a) BNS against Shabroz Khan S/o Shamis Din, R/o Jamlan, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi.
Reasi Police has reiterated that strict checking and enforcement measures will continue on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra Track to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims and to maintain proper regulation of pony services.
All pony handlers are advised to strictly comply with the prescribed guidelines and carry valid identification cards while operating on the Yatra Track.
